We do our utmost to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes for our patients.
The National Hip Fracture Database (NHFD) consistently rate us as being in the top three hospitals in England, Wales and Northern Ireland for meeting best practice criteria for patients treated for a hip fracture. We achieved 94.3% against the best practice criteria in 2020, against an average of 54.9%.
Our stroke services regularly achieve high ratings in the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) scores. In addition, we regularly achieve high early detection of cancer.
Patients regularly recommend us as a place to receive care; our drive to obtain patient experience feedback is because we believe it’s a true indicator of the quality of care we’re providing to people.
Furthermore our clinical directors and consultant in public health have put in place a learning from deaths framework. This is to make sure we’re always learning and improving and is considered a blueprint example for other trusts. Alongside this we are part of a national initiative to further improve the quality and safety of the care we provide through learning from patient safety incidents.
