We do our utmost to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes for our patients.
The National Hip Fracture Database (NHFD) rated us as being in the top three hospitals in England, Wales and Northern Ireland for meeting best practice criteria for patients treated for a hip fracture. We achieved 93.6% against the best practice criteria in 2018, against an average of 58.7%.
We’re among the top 10 in the country for hip, knee and joint replacement outcomes. Our stroke services regularly achieve high ratings in the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) scores. In addition, we consistently achieve high early detection of cancer.
Patients regularly recommend us as a place to receive care – we’re consistently in the top 10% of all trusts nationally. Our drive to obtain patient experience feedback is because we believe it’s a true indicator of the quality of care we’re providing to people.
Furthermore our clinical directors and consultant in public health have put in place a learning from deaths framework. This is to make sure we’re always learning and improving and is considered a blueprint example for other trusts.
