Living in Suffolk
Suffolk as a place to live has so much to offer you. A mix of charming towns, villages and rural countryside, it hosts numerous festivals. For example, Latitude and Folkeast. In addition, it’s home to many artists and is peppered with history and culture. Its coastline is designated an ‘area of outstanding natural beauty’.
There’s outdoor adventure, nature reserves, entertainment and family fun.
Bury St Edmunds, where the West Suffolk Hospital is based, is a beautiful market town with a richly fascinating heritage. The striking combination of medieval architecture, elegant Georgian squares, and glorious cathedral and abbey gardens, provide a distinctive visual charm. Furthermore it has prestigious shopping, an award-winning market, and a burgeoning food and restaurant scene. With a variety of attractions and places to stay, it’s under two hours from London and very convenient for Cambridge.
Moreover we have three new purpose-built accommodation blocks nestled in the woodland at the back of the West Suffolk Hospital. There are 160 quality furnished en-suite single occupancy bedrooms with modern communal living areas. They are available to rent for all staff at competitive rates. Find out more here.
Newmarket, where our community hospital is based, is the home of horse racing and the historic Newmarket Racecourse.
There’s something for everyone, ready for you to explore.
